1. About the club

Notfast was founded in 1986 as a veterans’ running club. In 2016 membership was opened up to anyone over the age of 18. There is no upper age limit and we still have active members in their 80’s. We cater for all abilities from the experienced runner to the complete beginner who has done little or no running.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, sociable club who always enjoy getting together and enjoying the company of fellow runners. New members will be made welcome whether you wish to compete in races, run as part of a team for the club or just run to keep fit. An information pack is available on our new members’ page. Any new ideas or suggestions you wish to make to the club, please speak to a Committee Member who will be happy to listen and/or help. We aim to organise several social events throughout the year and invite members to offer suggestions. Previously we have enjoyed a night at “the dogs”, a Pizza/Pasta evening, Quiz Nights, Ten Pin Bowling, Skittles, and of course the customary Christmas Dinner.

The club meets twice a week at 7:00 pm; on Tuesday evening we meet at Suthers School, Fernwood, Newark, NG24 3NH. and on Thursday evening we meet at different venues around Newark and the surrounding area.

If you are over 18 you are welcome to come along to the training sessions and run with us for two or three weeks before you decide whether to join us.

For further information see the new members section.
