Wow what an amazing week of running it has been!
GW week:
In total 48 club members ran at least 1 of the evenings, of which 16 members ran all 5 evenings.
Well done to David Haynes, Cliff Robinson and Marilyn Hatherley who came first in their age groups. Martin Dickenson and Cath Hare came second in their age groups. Fantastic achievement by you all.
Parkrun:
With no Newark parkrun on this week it gave the chance for a bit of tourism. 11 club members took this opportunity.
Mark Hawkings travelled to Lincoln and got his best parkrun time since September 2019 at 38mins 1 second.
Netty ran around Clumber Park and got another PB in a time of 26mins 9 seconds
Running at Doddington Hall was Andrew Jenkinson who ran a PB in a time of 30mins 46 seconds.
Other
On Thursday 9th Mark Hawkings ran chase the Sun at Prestwold Hall. A 10K run around the race circuit and completed this in 1:22:30.
Saturday 11th Mother and daughter, Sam and Ros Haynes ran the Belvoir 10K, Ros completing this is 01:14:59 and Sam ran it in 01:15:59.
Up in the lake district Emma Draper, Eva Davison, Rachel Revill and Simon Lock ran the Lakeland trails marathon at Coniston completing this in a time of 5hrs 25 minutes.
Also in the lakes was Amy Borrill running the Lakeland Trails half marathon, and completing this in 2hrs 27 minutes.
Netty Stevens was a pacer at the Grimsthorpe Gallop completing this in 1:44:53.
Some great achievements and times this week, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
On another note I’d like to wish Angela Brown a speedy recovery who took a tumble on Sunday while competing race to the king. Get well soon Angela and we all hope to see you out on your feet again soon.
